Stephanie Abney, MA, LMSW
Stephanie is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Idaho, with over 15 years experience in the field of Social Sciences and Counseling. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies, with an emphasis in Sociology and Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Her vast experiences and specialized trainings with individuals, couples, families and groups have allowed her various guest lecturing and public speaking opportunities. Her professional history encompasses the sociological perspectives of criminal justice/juvenile delinquency, trauma, death and dying, holistic health and wellness, spirituality, religion, and equality issues involving cultural and gender/sexual orientation.


As a practitioner, Stephanie is highly individualized, resulting in an eclectic, reality-based, person-centered and solution focused approach. Professionally, she is an Adjunct Professor and often integrates an educational, confident and realistic plan for success into her therapeutic practice. Stephanie emphasizes a collaborative approach, where clients experience empowerment through discovery of self and acceptance of inner passions, strengths and resources. Stephanie’s personal style is light hearted and enjoyable, often encouraging humor and a “don’t sweat the small stuff” philosophy to life’s most challenging situations. Allowing clients to focus on what IS most important and sift out what IS NOT, is what she feels will help them develop and reach their goals. Ideally, clients will gain insight into how to genuinely enjoy the journey with as little baggage as possible weighing them down.
