A Bit about Your Counselor:

I received a Bachelor’s Degree from Boise State University in 2008 where I majored in English with a Writing Emphasis. While working at the BSU Writing Center where I helped my peers through the sometimes tortuous writing process I realized my greatest passion was helping people find the courage to face the stuff that sometimes gets in our way. I began my studies at Northwest Nazarene University in the Marriage & Family Counseling track in 2009. Throughout my Practicum and Internship experience I had the pleasure of working with a variety of clients: children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

It is my goal to provide a safe, collaborative environment where people can explore their individuality, their relationships, and their goals for a better life. I see my role as your counselor as a neutral, yet engaged one. I will provide a non-judgmental listening ear and collaborate with you to help you accomplish your goals.

I see my clients from both an individualistic and relational perspective. Not married to any one theory in particular, I pull from the strengths of humanistic, cognitive, behavioral, and systemic theories in order to best serve my clients. When working with couples and families particularly I tend to see things from the systemic framework; however, systems theory is never very far off, even when working with individuals I conceptualize cases in a way that takes in the client’s many facets of life and relationships (work, peers, family, society).

I am married to my best friend and together we have a young daughter. Most of our days consist of singing the alphabet song at the top of our lungs, coloring, and reading. I have a passion for DIY projects, reading, and watching movies.

Client Population Focus
I am passionate about couples and families. I work with adolescents (10-18) and prefer to bring in the parent(s) every 3-4 sessions in order to address all issues occurring with a household, rather than isolating to one party. I am also passionate about women’s issues (self-esteem, eating disorders, motherhood, identity, and role definition).

I have experience and training in the following areas:
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Life Transitions
  • Marital and Pre Marital Issues
  • Body Image
  • Parenting
  • Relationships
Green Leaves Counseling, LLC

I understand that sometimes complicated situations, family and personal constraints, and the baggage from our past can way us down. I strive to provide support (and insight when appropriate) to my clients in order to assist you in attaining your fullest potential. Sometimes we can’t see ourselves or our “stuff” clearly. We’re standing on our own place marker in this world. If we can find someone we trust to look at our place marker from another angle…help to describe it…and dissect it, if necessary, then sometimes we can make the movement we need to in order to get the life we want.
